Background of बुद्ध जयन्ती
Prince Siddhartha of Kapilvastu, Lumbini, went all the way to become Lord Buddha. It was his story from around the 6th century when he was the prince foretold to become a noble king with all the luxuries he ever envied. Siddhartha was the son of King Suddhodhan Gautama and Queen Maya Devi. He was born in the garden of Sal Trees located in the charming and serene Lumbini, Nepal.
With no experience of sadness and sorrow, Prince Siddhartha left the palace & began excursions off the palace territories in his chariot to seek the reasons behind his sufferings in his late twenties. By that time he had to spend most of his time in Lumbini, Kapilvastu, Devdaha, Uttar Pradesh of India, and all the sacred places around Nepal.
Liberation took years of teaching and a mystical meditation session, where he woke up as an awakened one or the Buddha. He began enlightening people on the right path since then.
UNESCO has listed Lumbini, Nepal, as the birthplace of Gautam Buddha and a world heritage site.
