Saraswati Puja dedicates to Goddess Saraswati. Mata Saraswati is the quintessence of Art and Knowledge. The day also marks the initiation of the Spring season, leaving behind the chills and cold.
On this day, everyone worships Goddess Saraswati, and various programs and observations are common.
Devotees get dressed in their new clothes and worship the goddess with flowers, incense, and prasad. Visitors also enjoy prasad, which comprises delicious Buniya and fruits on the occasion.
The festival is more prominent in schools and universities, which are indeed the source of knowledge and wisdom for many. Likewise, people decorate temples with colourful pylons. Buddhist and Muslim communities celebrate the festival with different names.

According to the Nepali calendar, Saraswati Puja will be observed on 2 February 2025, which coincides with the 2nd Falgun 2081.
The Panchami tithi lasts from 9:14 PM (2 February) to 6:52 PM(3 February).
The auspicious timing or Shubh Mahurat for Saraswati Pooja is from 7:09 AM to 12:35 PM.
Basant Panchami (वसन्त पञ्चमी / श्रीपञ्चमी)
Saraswati Puja is also known as Basant Panchami or Shri Panchami in Nepal and India. People consider the day as the beginning of the Spring Season or Basant Ritu, hence the name Basant Panchami.
Basant Panchami is also an auspicious day to begin the journey of your new life, be it a new house or a conjugal life.
