History of Thanksgiving
The history of Thanksgiving dates back to 1621 when the Wampanoag shared the autumn harvest feast with the Plymouth colonists. This is what happens to be modern-day Thanksgiving. This colonial festival went global when President Abraham Lincoln decided to have a national holiday on this day.
The early days of Thanksgiving were 3 days long and had a different menu inspired by the marine lifestyle. Like many other religious and traditional occurrences, Thanksgiving has also lost its original essence. It is much more about feasts with friends and families.
Each year, Turkey is pardoned to retirement, preventing slaughter.

Macy Thanksgiving Day Parade
After last year’s crowd-less event due to the Pandemic, this year’s Macy’s Departmental store parade will witness the 95th celebration in New York. As per tradition, the parade will head from Upper West to Midtown Manhattan on a 2.5-mile route from 9 to 12 AM.
The program shall be broadcast on NBC and other paid on-demand media platforms like YouTube TV, Amazon Firestick, Apple TV, etc.
Various dance groups, performers and celebrities perform on the occasion of the Thanksgiving parade by Macy’s.
