Navratri is a pre-eminent nine-day festival devoted to Hindu Goddess Durga. The name itself suggests; ‘Nav’ referring to the Nine forms of Durga and ‘Ratri’ for Nine Nights of Celebration. Happy Navratri 2023 to all.
This Shardiya Navaratri(नवरात्रि) is one of the most significant ones as compared to the other three. It usually gets marked in September-October.
The significance of these Nine Days celebrations is the depiction of the victory of good over evil. It is these 9-days that Goddess Durga battled Mahishasur and defeated him. This day is also known as Ghatasthapana(घटस्थापना) and marks the initiation of festive seasons with festivals like Dusshera, Deepawali, Bhai Dooj and many more.

Navratri 2023 Dates
Navratri 2023 commences on 15th October and concludes with Vijaya Dashmi on 24th October.
The auspicious timings(Mahurat) of Ghatashapana are 11:26 AM – 12:12 PM, with Abhijit Muhurat from 11:39 AM – 12:47 AM, from 14-16th October.
