Date for गाइतिहार र लक्ष्मीपुजा

According to the Nepali calendar, both Laxmi Puja and Gai Tihar fall on the 17th of Kartik 2081 this year, which is 2 November 2024.

It is just similar to how Diwali is celebrated in India.

Gai Tihar 2081

Also known as the Cow Festival, Gai-Goru Puja, and Gai Puja, Gai Tihar is an amazing occasion to honour the deeds and goodness of Cows towards the human race.

Cows are considered the avatar of goddess Laxmi and hence are worshipped on the occasion of Laxmi Puja. Cows also signify productivity and nourishment and are treated specially for this reason. They are worshipped with garland(mala), tika, and food items of their choice.

Laxmi Puja is usually observed on the evenings of the Tihar Festival. With beautifully decorated houses and rangolis, people believe they are ready to welcome Goddess Laxmi on this day. They make small footprints with rangolis representing the steps of Mata Lakshmi, visiting with blessings of prosperity and delight.

Goddess Laxmi symbolizes wealth, luck, power, richness, grace, productivity, auspiciousness, accomplishment, and contentment.
