Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhi, Mahatma Gandhi, who brought freedom to India, was born on 2nd October 1869. This day we celebrate as Gandhi Jayanti in India, also to honour his deeds that have helped India be what it is today.
Mahatma Gandhi, commonly known as Gandhi Ji, played a crucial role as a prominent leader during India’s liberation struggle against British colonial rule. His philosophy of nonviolent resistance, referred to as Satyagraha served as an inspiration to countless individuals worldwide. By employing civil disobedience tactics, he spearheaded movements advocating for civil rights, social justice, and freedom. Gandhi’s unwavering adherence to the principles of truth, peace, and simplicity forged an enduring legacy that positioned him as an emblem of peace and a global proponent for transformative social change. His ideologies and efforts, which propelled India to its independence, earned him the title of the ‘Father of the Nation.’
